Since the sports fields of the Old Grey Club are now used by The Grey Schools, the John Dunne field is no longer utilised or needed. As a result, The Grey Foundation has sold the John Dunne fields to Inex Developments. The contract was entered into on condition that the developer assumes responsibility for rezoning the land and securing all the rights required to complete the transaction. At present, the developer is constructing the civil works and plans are in place to begin construction of the entrance and surrounding security walls within the month of July.

For Old Greys, this field may have some fond memories and some will remember it being nicknamed ‘Lords’ for all the reasons the real Lords is not… Rock hard surface, full of thorns, no ablutions, no shade and a 1.2km walk up Westview Drive from The Grey Schools.
The development is a secure forty-five-unit housing estate with a homeowners association. It is a freehold scheme with houses ranging from 200m² to 335m². Buyers are able to personalise the interior layout through the estate architect Reynier Koen.

[heading size=”h2″ style=”uk-panel-title”]INEX DEVELOPMENTS TO TAKE TRANSFER OF THE JOHN DUNNE FIELD[/heading]
INEX Developments has, at last, got it right at Port Elizabeth city council and Pagdens Attorneys (Brett Weddell 86’) will be attending to the transfer within the next month or so from The Grey Foundation. The internal roads, perimeter walls, entrance guardhouse and civils are now complete. The site has water and electricity and the 2,2m boundary wall has eight strand electrified fencing which stretches roughly 685m with CCTV cameras at 37m intervals. The landscaping has started taking shape. The design emulates the natural subtropical Albany biome which includes Albany tree forests, thickets and grass plains to be enjoyed at leisure. The natural design is alluring and sparks an inquisitive feeling, enticing one to enter the estate. All security components are on-site and are operational. We are excited to announce that the construction of The Grey Foundation House will begin soon after transfer along with the first four residences for new homeowners.
